Jared Thomas

I’m Jared Thomas. Husband and father of 3. I’m a full time Firefighter and a videographer/photographer. I grew up in western Oregon and moved out to Utah 7 years ago. I spend a majority of my free time in the outdoors with a camera,bow, or gun in my hands.

What’s going through your head as you lay in bed the night before … a hunt, a fishing trip, a ride?:

I’m thinking of the game plan. I imagine myself executing the perfect shot as it all comes together.

What motivates you to do what you do?:

My family is my biggest motivator.

How do you step your game up year after year?:

I continually push myself in all aspects of life. Striving for a little bit better every day. From fitness, to home life, to the mountains one small improvement daily is substantial by the time next year rolls around.

What would you identify as a quality you possess that makes you stand out amongst your peers?:

The ability to push through when things get tough.

If you could improve one aspect of what you do, what would it be and why?:

With hunting, I could be better about scouting and learning more about where animals spend their time.

If you could only listen to one music album the rest of your life, what would it be?:

Past, present, or future: who is one person you would sit down with for a full course meal and why?:

Past- my papa, I miss how he laughed at his own jokes

Present- I’ll never pass up a meal with my pops. He’s my best friend.

Who has had the biggest influence on your life and why?:

My Dad, he has shown my how to be a great father, a hard worker, how to be humble, and care for others.

What is your most favorite smell?:

Pine

What is the best book you have read?:

Extreme ownership

Would you rather be the smartest person or the funniest person?:

Smartest

Your go to favorite meal?:

Bacon, Swiss cheese, sautéed onion and mushrooms on and elk burger.

How would you explain what Canvas Cutter represents?:

They are amazing people always trying to find better ways to fulfill people’s needs in the outdoors.

What is your favorite Canvas Cutter product and why?:

Dominator 2.0. Being able to roll up to a spot and be in bed within minutes is huge.

What is something people would never guess just by looking at you?:

I’m Friendly.
