Kyle Paxman

I live in Elk Ridge, Ut with my awesome wife Misty and our four kids. I work in the role of Supply Chain Director for a company called Wavetronix in Springville, UT. We manufacture radar equipment that helps manage traffic. Between work and kid activities life is pretty busy. I love to play/watch numerous sports. My wife says "It's time to retire!" I love to be in the woods and try to hunt in several states every year. The woods are my peace. They rejuvenate my life and keep me grounded to things that matter.

What’s going through your head as you lay in bed the night before … a hunt, a fishing trip, a ride?:

Always excitement of the unknown. You never can tell when dumb luck or something extraordinary will happen.

What motivates you to do what you do?:

The challenge. There's nothing like the euphoric feeling when you work super hard and then succeed. True for everything, not just hunting.

How do you step your game up year after year?:

I am a thinker. I analyze everything to a fault. One thing this does, is allows me to learn from experiences both good and bad.

What would you identify as a quality you possess that makes you stand out amongst your peers?:

Trustworthiness.

If you could improve one aspect of what you do, what would it be and why?:

Figure out how to better involve my kids. I want them to enjoy it as much as I do.

If you could only listen to one music album the rest of your life, what would it be?:

Ugh---I listen to about everything accept Taylor Swift. Definitely not a Swifty.

Past, present, or future: who is one person you would sit down with for a full course meal and why?:

My dad. I miss him. He's been gone 7 years now. I'd love to talk to him when he was my age about life, kids, etc. He was amazing! Hard to fill his shoes.

Is a hotdog a sandwich?:

Traditionally no. Can it be, you bet. If you don't have buns and use sandwich bread in a crunch, I say its then a sandwich, right?

Who has had the biggest influence on your life and why?:

My wife. She's my idol. She puts up with me! Pushes me to be a better person.

What is your most favorite smell?:

Aspen trees in the September

What is the best book you have read?:

I am not a giant reader. I like historical war accounts such as "The Horse Solider" and "Hacksaw Ridge."

Would you rather be the smartest person or the funniest person?:

Smartest

Sushi

What is something people would never guess just by looking at you?:

I'm color blind. Sometimes it's a superpower and sometimes it's kryptonite. Seeing deer when they are grey, big advantage. Finding and tracking blood drops, nearly impossible.
